The Seniors' Follies
Over time, the Fête fransaskoise became a gathering place for seniors. From 1991, their activities centred on an event called Les folies des aînés (Seniors' Follies) - a show which took place on Sunday afternoon. However, throughout the weekend the seniors had their quiet corner where they could enjoy get-togethers. Robert Chabot, who was festival coordinator for many years, talked about it (audio).
Musician and story-teller Henri Poulin was the instigator of this activity, which attracted festival participants from everywhere in the province. He took part a number of times in the show as performer and host.
