Sports and Recreation

Le relais Lagimodière, 1981 Sports and recreation were at the heart of the festival right from its beginnings. In the first event at Saint Laurent, l'Association jeunesse francophone (Fransaskois Youth Association) looked after this aspect. In 1981 and 1982, the Lagimodière relay brought out the most enthusiasts; its route by canoe and bicycle and on foot attracted participants from all four corners of the province. But it was cut from the program after the festival moved in 1983. Tournoi de balle-molle, 1992 From then on, festival goers took part in several sports, but it was the softball tournaments which attracted the most people. Golf was another popular sports activity. Young people were not overlooked at the Fête fransaskoise - they were invited to take part in classic games like hopscotch, tag, tug-of-war, and many others as well. Terrain de jeux à Prud'homme, 1987
