Reunions

When Fransaskois are asked what they liked the most in the festival, they invariably reply the get-togethers. Léon Marchildon from Zenon Park had something to say on the subject (audio). The activities provided a background and helped give the gathering its profile. As Robert Therrien emphasized, it was a rare opportunity for Saskatchewan Francophones to get together in a festive atmosphere without the traditional administrative meetings (audio). While the festival encouraged Fransaskois to meet one another, it also did the same among the generations. Fransaskois artist Christie-Anne Blondeau shared a memory of the festival which demonstrated the multi-generational character of the event (audio).
