The Conseil culturel fransaskois

The Conseil culturel fransaskois (CCF) (Fransaskois Cultural Council), formerly the Commission culturelle fransaskoise (Fransaskois Cultural Commission), was established in 1974. It participated in organizing the first festival and took the lead on the file the following year. An employee worked part time on the festival in close cooperation with the host communities. His responsibilities were to apply for grants, negotiate contracts, promote the event, and supervise the volunteers. The ongoing involvement of the CCF made it possible to develop expertise in organizing the festival, which was able to expand as a result. The CCF gave up managing the festival in 1998. From this point on, although it tried to resume control of the event a few years later, its leadership was always challenged.
