The ACF
Fransaskois Community Assembly
The Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise (ACF) (Fransaskois Community Assembly) was the public front of the Fransaskois community. It was founded in 1999 and followed in the footsteps of the ACFC, whose mandate was to promote and defend the rights of the Francophone community in Saskatchewan.
It was in this context that the organization was involved in the Fête fransaskoise. Unfortunately the provincial organizations were suspicious of the new structure. It played a substantial political role and they felt they had lost some power. The climate was not favourable to securing their cooperation in managing the festival. On this subject, listen to Gilles Groleau, president of the ACF from 1999 to 2001 (audio)
